Pandonras Box

We’ll it’s a Saturday evening in September and as I sit here watching the end of a ‘Long Kiss Goodnight’ (great movie BTW) Abi is writing Christmas cards. Why would she be doing that in September I hear you say?!?!? We’ll the well travelled Piper/Warde family won’t be here to celebrate Christmas in the UK; we’ll be spending it in Sydney. I’ve been working on a project for the Australian business for the past 2 years and they’ve asked me back to finish the next phase. It wasn’t a difficult decision for us to make. I know our parents will be a little disappointed they won’t be able to see us but it’s an offer we couldn’t refuse. I’m looking forward to Christmas on the beach and New Years Eve watching the fireworks explode over the bridge.

However, I have a lot of work to pack in before the holidays. I’m off to India in a couple of weeks, something I’m not looking forward to. Then it’s Barcelona for a week in early November for a conference. Abi’s going to fly out for the weekend. The I leave for Australia at the end of November, returning some time in mid January.

I’ve decided to change our holiday plans. Instead of spending three weeks in South East Asia, we’re off to South West USA. We’re going to spend two weeks travelling around Utah and Arizona. Please not this had nothing to do with the recent coup in Thailand, but more a desire to get back to the US (I haven’t been there for two years). We also wanted to visit some more of the national parks in Utah. We really enjoyed our visit there three years ago but didn’t have time to see everything we wanted to. I’ve ordered a rough guide but we’re going to leave the planning until we get back from Australia. I am counting the air miles we'll be earning as you read this :-)
I was told about a great website this week. Pandora. It's an interesting twist on internet radio and it's free. You put in an artist or song name and it plays music that's very similar in style. A great way to find new bands. You can only fast forward a few times each hour and you can't rewind. You also have to register after the first hour or so but it's free. Check it out.
